Show notes

This week, Coach Joe Frontier visits with Andy Pettit who shares a few of the stories he's collected over the years about Al Oerter. Recognized by many as the world’s greatest Olympian, discus thrower Al Oerter won a gold medal in four consecutive Olympics from 1956 to 1968, returning to competition in his 40’s to attempt a fifth gold. Andy has taken on the Herculian effort to write a book that brings the Life of Al Oerter beyond just the gold medals to light. In his tireless efforts he has collected 100's of stories, it was an honor today that he shared a few with us on the podcast.
